From Traci; "I really wanted to send you a BIG BIG thank you for the gorgeous High Tea that you put on for Mothers Day, and in turn for the wonderful effort of raising some much needed funds for Very Special Kids. The food was beautiful and the coffee, as always, was superb. I don't know if I have mentioned it before but Very Special Kids' is an important part of our life, for without this organisation I would not have gotten through the tough days that have been before me and also for those that I know are to come. Very Special Kids, through its support workers, volunteers, and its many other families have helped guide me through the very scary and unknown world of raising a sick child with a severe disability. Coping with our child's illness/condition is hard enough but then to add on to a load already weighing heavily on our shoulders is the ridiculous disability system that we as parents have to battle just to make our loved ones lives as comfortable and as healthy as possible.Very Special Kid's not only helps the person affected by the illness but they are there to support the entire family too. This is one of the only organisations that I am aware of that includes the entire family in its care plan, and I feel absolutely blessed to be a part of it all.
